Why Healthy Planet was chosen
Healthy Planet is the charity for the Rosenblatt New Energy Awards 2009, recognising achievement in the renewable energy sector. Tessa Laws, partner at Rosenblatt, selected Healthy Planet after reading, in the FT, how we continually keep donors involved and informed, and are using web technology to keep our charity administration rate low (less than 10%).
Choosing a specific project
Tessa Laws wanted the money made, including proceeds from the charity raffle, to go to conservation in the UK. We identified the Great Fen Project, in Cambridgeshire, hub of the renewable energy sector. The project is creating a 9,000 acre fenland habitat for the benefit of wildlife and people.
Working with the Sponsors and the specific project
We worked with the Great Fen team and the New Energy Awards team to ensure that the guests knew where their ticket money was going to be invested. This involves
(i) Adopting plots in the Great Fen Project area. View the plots in the names of the sponsors, winners & the guests at the New Energy Awards 2009.
(ii) Providing IT & Communications/PR support to the Sponsors & specific project.
(iii) Attending and presenting our work on the awards night and how it relates to the guests
(iv) Taking guests on a 20 sec e-journey to their plot, using a satellite video.
(iv) Sharing details of the project and a letter of thanks, from the President of the Great Fen Project, Stephen Fry (Author, Actor and Presenter) on the night.
(v) Distributing visual gifts & recognition (weblink & printed certificate) for all the Guests on the night.
(vi) Providing ongoing updates on Our Work & the Great Fen Project.
